We are looking for motivated, compassionate individuals who are committed to the involvement of carers/relatives/wider network of supporters in the co-production and management of safeguarding responses and safety plans. The ideal candidates must be able to work well under pressure; in adherence to statutory requirements whilst simultaneously upholding the principles of family network empowerment.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 practitioners to join our brand-new Family Group Conferencing team who will lead on developing safe decisions and plans for children within the context of a Family Group Conference. They will deliver a key and proven way of strengthening family involvement and relational ways of working to achieve safety and best outcomes for children when families are experiencing significant problems in their lives; in line with social care reforms and our drive to support families to create stable home built on love. You will be central to driving and harnessing the power of family networks, prioritising family led needs assessment and planning for solutions, unlocking the potential of family networks and enabling children to remain or return safely within their parents; extended family network and community.
Main Responsibilities
You will facilitate a portfolio of Family Group Conferences, bringing together children's support networks of family members and friends to find safe solutions including:
- Acting as an independent and neutral facilitator of the Family Group Conference Process.
- Responsibility for the preparation, planning, coordination, facilitation and review of the Family Group Conference that responds to the needs of the individual families from a diversity of backgrounds.
- promoting quality planning, decision making and practice for children and families.
As our Family Group Conference Service works flexibly to meet the needs of families, there will be a requirement to work some evenings and weekends. You will therefore be able to work on an agile basis across the borough.
You will join a dynamic and creative team with robust practice development, team development and team building opportunities and access to wider training and development opportunities within a multi-agency partnership context
As a restorative team we provide high support as well as high challenge and work collaboratively within the team, with families, colleagues and the community at large.
