West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated Residential Care Officer to join our Adult Social Care Team at Notrees Care Home.
The Role
As a Residential Care Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional care to our residents. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the day-to-day operation of the residential care home is in accordance with regulatory standards and guidelines
- Providing direct care and support to residents, promoting their independence and well-being
- Leading and supervising a team of care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care
- Conducting assessments of residents' needs and developing individualised care plans
- Monitoring and reviewing residents' progress, making appropriate adjustments to care plans as necessary
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of care provided
- Working collaboratively with external professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive care
- Upholding residents' rights and promoting their dignity and respect
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Relevant experience working in a residential care setting
- Sound knowledge of care standards, regulations, and legislation
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to support and care for others
- QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification
