The Role:
Liverpool City Council is seeking an ambitious Head of Internal Audit to join our Internal Audit Service. As our strategic audit lead, you will be responsible for delivering a high performing and well managed internal audit service, ensuring our council plan and policy objectives are achieved from an internal audit perspective.
Supporting the Director of Internal Audit, the Head of Internal Audit will contribute toward the Council’s strategic direction by coordinating the operational management of our Internal Audit Service, both in the context of local and national auditing policies.
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of delivering continuous improvement and positive change within an internal audit setting and across a complex and multi-faceted organisation. As Head of Internal Audit – and therefore a key member of our service leadership team – you should be someone who can work effectively across the organisation to ensure the Council meets the ambitious commitments we have made.
