Wyre Council are looking to recruit two residents who will join the council’s Independent Remuneration Panel (IRP).
The panel, may be required to meet up to three times a year at the Civic Centre. The Panel makes recommendations to the Council on the allowances which should be paid to Elected Members.
There is no formal application form for the role and anyone interested must submit a short letter to the Council explaining why they are interested in the position, any relevant qualifications and experience they have and what they feel they can contribute to the panel.
Successful applicants will be recommended for approval by the full Council. The usual term of office is 4 years. These are voluntary positions; however, appointed panel members are able to claim mileage and other reasonable out-of-pocket expenses.
The appointment is not open to any person who has been an Elected Member or officer of Wyre Council within the last five years or a person who is a relative or close friend of an Elected Member or Officer of Wyre Council.
