Job Title: Waking Night Residential ARC Worker
Starting Salary: £30,559 progressing to £33,366 per annum plus 6% market enhancement*
Hours: 37
Location: Hertfordshire (This is a floating role therefore you will be required to travel / work in the following locations: Stevenage, Baldock, Hertford, Welwyn Garden City and Watford)

About the team
Hertfordshire County Council believes in keeping young people close, to enable them to maintain their identity, and to maintain links with the community to which they belong, this in turn allows us to support these young people, their families, and friends.
This waking night role will be based across 6 of Hertfordshire residential children's homes according to the needs of the home at that time. The post holder will work as part of each homes dedicated, well established and friendly residential team ensuring consistency and promoting safety for children over the night time periods.
About the role
This role will require you to support children at night across a variety of homes. This support is different in all of the homes and will include some personal care.

Night time can often be a difficult time for our children and having the right person with them helps to manage their previous traumas.
Hertfordshire provides all residential staff with extensive training to learn the skills for our therapeutic and trauma informed approach to looking after children.

- Supporting children to talk
- Completing observations
- Supporting children at the hospital
- Supporting with personal Care
- Monitoring sleep patterns
- Welcoming a child home
- De-escalating conflict
- Celebrating success.
About you
Essential:
- Passion for working with children.
- Ability to learn and implement training.
- Flexible and innovative to meet challenges.
- Post is for waking nights however postholder will need to be available for training during the day at intervals throughout the year.
- Willing to work across Hertfordshire at various different locations such as Hertford, Welwyn Garden City, Baldock, Stevenage and Watford.
- Full Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
- At least 1 year experience of working with children or caring for children and young people in a Residential setting.
- Hold Diploma level 3/ 4 Health and social care.
