Estates Surveyor (Reference: ES)
Salary range: £44,001.88 p.a.
Full time (Hybrid)
The Council is seeking to employ an Estates Surveyor to join its successful and expanding Property Services team, which manages a varied portfolio of property and related projects. The role will provide a comprehensive property service to the Council and will include property management, professional work (rent reviews, lease renewals and valuations including annual asset valuations), lettings, acquisitions, disposals and project work, including redevelopment and regeneration.
It is an exciting time to join the team as the service is expanding, with recent acquisitions totalling over £24 million. The current portfolio is valued in excess of £100 million and there are a number of forthcoming major development and regeneration projects, including the recently announced Brookfield Riverside £400million development.
The duties of the role also include assisting in the management of the Council’s innovative and award-winning housing company, Badger BC Investments.
The successful post holder will be a qualified Chartered Surveyor, in order to provide support to the Property Services Manager and Senior Estate Surveyors. The successful candidate should ideally have experience of working for a Local Authority property section although this is not essential. A calm approach in a busy environment is required, as are intermediate ICT and Microsoft Office skills. Communication is key in this role (both written and verbal) so it is essential that the successful applicants will be able to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluently spoken English.
