- Build on an individual's strengths to develop skills and independence,
- Build and promote links with the individual's community
- Promote and maintain safety and good health, and
- Facilitate employment.
About The Job
Salary: £15,450.40 to £18,287.20 per annum (2 days per week) to £23,175.60 to £27,430.80 per annum (3 days per week)*
Working Pattern: 1 post 2 days per week and 2 posts 3 days per week

Are you interested in being responsible for achieving positive change and improved outcomes for young people?
As a Senior Social Worker within a busy community team, your role will involve working with young people and / or adults from age 16 years and upwards (depending on which team you are part of) with lifelong disabilities, including physical and learning disability and autism. You will have a varied, complex caseload, undertaking high quality assessments and reviews including mental capacity act assessments, responding to safeguarding enquiries and provide an accountable social care service to those people who access or need the service.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant difference to our service users lives, although challenging the rewards by far outweigh those challenges as you will always strive for a positive outcome. No two days will look the same; you'll be working in at various locations across Worthing, Shoreham, Lancing and Littlehampton with numerous colleagues and customers from all walks of life. You will need to take an organised approach whilst exercising your expertise with knowledge of policies and legislations to support those in need.
*Full time salary £38,626 per annum to £45,718 per annum (grades 10 to 11)
Experience and Skills

4. Able to work in partnership with carers, colleagues and external agencies to deliver an effective service.
5. Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal format, to explain complicated information to others and to use negotiation and persuasion skills to encourage others to adopt a course of action they might otherwise not wish to take.
6. Able to recognise limits of own accountability and responsibility and seek appropriate support, advice and supervision.
Qualifications and/or experience:
- Degree in relevant professional or equivalent qualification e.g. Certificate of Qualification in Social Work or Diploma in Social Work.
- Completion of relevant post-qualifying training.
- Registration with the relevant professional registration body and responsibility for maintaining registration with that body.
- Valid, full driving licence.
