Electrician

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council are keen to recruit staff that are committed to developing its services and improve the delivery to the public and its partners. We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic person with a flexible approach to work within the Property Services Section as an Electrician.

Applicants should have:

City and Guilds Electrical Level 3 or Equivalent

 BS 7671: 2008 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations  

City and Guilds 2391 Inspecting and Testing Certificate 

Holds a current ECS site card or is prepared to immediately attain 

IPAF Certification 

PASMA Certification 

IOSH Working Safely Certification 

• Good all round commercial electrical knowledge and experience and be able to carry out all aspects of electrical repairs, Installations, Testing and Inspection including fire alarms, emergency lighting and controls to the current Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) wiring requirements (BS7671). 

• Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)

• The ability to work flexibly covering a variety of tasks with a practical approach and be prepared to undertake additional hours when required.

Applicants must be physically fit to complete all duties, be able and willing to work outside in all weather conditions, have excellent customer care skills and be willing to undertake any necessary training to fully complete the role and be available to be on the out of hours call out rota.

The hours of work are 37 per week to suit the needs of the service.
