South Hams and West Devon is home to vibrant and engaged communities and residents who take ownership of their local area and are passionate about making South Hams and West Devon a better place to live and work.
Public service is more important than ever and this role presents a real opportunity to ensure that we demonstrate value for money and social value through our buying and contracting arrangements.
This role will support services from across the Council with their buying arrangements, analysing our spend data to identify opportunities for savings and taking the lead with some low value / low risk procurement activity. You will also be responsible for managing the contract register.
Ideally you will have experience in local government (or similar organisation) procurement activity but more important is the ability to analyse data and lead projects. In return, we offer flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home or from our two headquarters in Tavistock and Totnes.
For an informal discussion regarding the role please contact Neil Hawke, Assistant Director of Strategy & Organisational Development, either at neil.hawke@swdevon.gov.uk or on 01803 861323.
Closing date: Wednesday 19 March 2025
Expected interview date: Wednesday 2 April 2025
