We are currently looking for a Maintenance Officer to maintain and inspect corporate assets within the Council’s Corporate Estate & Development Team. The post-holder will be required to have a good understanding of techniques relating to repairing and building maintenance and will ideally be qualified in a building-related trade e.g. Plumbing, Building, Carpentry or Electrical (or have relevant years of experience).
The candidate will ideally have previous experience in a similar field of work, working managing their own workload with minimal supervision. Existing Lorry Loader certification is preferrable but training for the role can be provided.
They should be prepared to work on all types of assets, including public toilets, office buildings, parks and pavement infrastructure etc. Much of the role will be assisting in the implementation of parking schemes and other highway improvement works, repairing and installing parks infrastructure such as fencing, concrete plinths and footpath surfaces.
The candidate should be a flexible worker able to work independently and with their own initiative to complete tasks assigned. Tools, van (Hi-ab) and clothing will be provided will be provided for this role.
