Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging role in community safety in a busy and vibrant town centre? Are you proactive and hardworking with excellent communication and interpersonal skills? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Safer Neighbourhood Service as a Glass Works Warden in a new team in Barnsley town centre.
The Safer Neighbourhood Service is a diverse team focusing on a range of statutory and non-statutory functions including, but not limited to community safety, anti-social behaviour, environmental crime and blight and all tenure housing management and regulation.
The main aims of the role will be to:
- Work closely with a range of stakeholders to reduce and prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.
- Engage pro-actively with those involved in anti-social behaviour and identify those responsible.
- Discharge a broad range of summary enforcement powers in a proportionate and professional manner including any powers delegated by the Chief Constable.
- Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of targeted initiatives as directed including campaigns and planned deployment approaches.
- Liaise with local businesses and visitors of Barnsley town centre.
- Provide an ambassadorial role within the town centre offering support where applicable and required.
You will provide a visible and reassuring presence, engaging with customers, staff and visitors, and responding to any incidents or issues that may arise. You will also support the delivery of community safety initiatives and projects, such as crime prevention campaigns and events.
