The Designated Social Care Officer will sit within our Children's Services team and lead Halton forward in delivering a creative, and effective service to our children with SEN.
About You
The DSCO must have knowledge of social care practice in order to provide and quality assure advice about our children and young people, make recommendations about need and provision, and contribute to formulating outcomes.
Working with multi-agency teams to develop new processes e.g. knowledge of the national landscape, local structures and processes for children and adults' services.
You will have the ability to collect, interpret, and use data to facilitate wider understanding of the needs and resources of the local population, and influence commissioning.
You will possess the professional skills needed to build relationships with a wide range of partners, communicating and influencing systems. The right candidate must be able to influence change and persuade decision makers and practitioners, building and maintaining professional networks, seeking learning and information, and keeping relationships with partners and parents effective.
The successful candidate will have good problem solving and creative thinking being able to identify opportunities to improve or innovate services or approaches. You must therefore be creative and innovative, with a breadth of knowledge in safeguarding, and understanding of the legal landscape.
