The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Head of Service – Permanency and Sufficiency to join our Children’s Services team here at Knowsley Council - an award-winning Local Authority.
As Head of Permanence and Sufficiency services you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and young people who access support from our service and their families. With overall responsibility for the development and delivery of the Council’s Children Looked After, Care Experienced People, Fostering, Adoption and Residential services you will play a critical role in ensuring our statutory duties are met, and high-quality outcomes are achieved for our children and young people from birth to 25 years.
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative senior leadership team within Children’s Services, you will also support the Chief Executive and Executive Management Team in the achievement of the Council’s priorities, helping to ensure that the Council meets its legal, statutory, and political obligations whilst effectively managing risk.

The Person
As our Head of Service – Permanency & Sufficiency you will be an enthusiastic leader, with strong evidence of experience as a senior leader in Children’s Social Care. You will be passionate about leading a range of teams to deliver high quality services to children in care, care experienced people and children with disabilities and will have skills and experience high quality residential and fostering services that consistently evidence improved outcomes for children
If you enjoy working with passionate staff who truly care about what they do, a senior leadership team who work together to achieve a shared vision and a corporate team who wrap their support around Children’s Services to achieve positive outcomes - You may be the perfect candidate for this role
