Along with growing our Corporate sector, we are looking to develop a wedding strategy in 2025, this role will be crucial in understanding that market, driving sales and developing relationships with suppliers in the wedding market.</p>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discussing enquiries with clients in detail before crafting custom proposals, with the goal being to convert enquiries into bookings.</li>\n<li>You will be critical is driving a sales and marketing strategy to put this unique venue on the map.</li>\n<li>Working in venue that primarily hosts B2B events, school events and leisure activities, and you'll have a great opportunity to build relationships with a variety of clients and booking agents.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Candidate requirements:</strong></p>\n<p>We're after someone looking to start their journey in Events and Venue Sales, with some experience ideally in a hospitality, customer service, or sales office role but ready to learn more and support our existing sales team.</p>\n<p>You may already have broad understanding of hospitality, but this is not essential as long as you have the right attitude and are willing to learn.</p>\n<p>You will have a confident telephone and email manner as communicating with external and internal stakeholders is a key aspect of the position.</p>\n<p>Full Driving Licence is required for this role.<br><br>Your skills:<br>• You are confident and able to forge strong working relationships and create genuine connections with colleagues and guests through your excellent communication skills<br>• You are confident using IT software - familiarity with booking software would be beneficial but is not essential as training can be provided<br>• Most of all, you will share our values such as being graciously warm, demonstrating a genuine approach, anticipating guest needs and ensuring every detail is considered<br><br><strong>Benefits:</strong><br>We can offer you an excellent range of benefits including flexible working options, a generous annual leave entitlement of 28 days (rising to 33 days after 5 years continued local government service), plus Bank Holidays, an enhanced local government pension scheme, a range of discounts, an onsite gym, salary sacrifice car schemes, an employee assistance program and so much more!<br><br><strong>Our area:</strong><br>Wokingham Borough is set in the heart of Berkshire with excellent transport links to Reading and central London.
