Emergency Duty Team (EDT) Advanced practitioner
AMHP or experienced social workers interested in training to be an AMHP and to lead Child protection and Safeguarding enquiries and Mental Health Act Assessments out of hours.
Hours per week:
21 hours on a Shift Rotation Pattern across an 8-week period with annual leave incorporated into the rota.
There will be an opportunity to work overtime shifts within the team.
Join the management team leading a highly skilled Emergency Duty Team (EDT) that work out of hours providing a robust response to people in crisis.
EDT provide a service to Children, young people, vulnerable adults, and their families ensuring the right support at the right time.
About the Team
The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) are an out of hours service, therefore you will be working alongside colleagues on a rotating Shift Pattern which will include some weekends and Bank Holidays. We work closely with our partner agencies.
As part of our team, you will:
- Provide a high-quality response to emergency referrals out of normal working hours.
- Work a rotational shift pattern
- Provide appropriate support and interventions to vulnerable adults, children and families to address safeguarding concerns, supporting people who present in Mental Health crisis out of hours and coordinating Formal Mental Health Assessments.
- You will work as a Qualified AMHP or be willing to train as an AMHP.
- Provide out of hours advice and guidance to professionals, as well as factually accurate and reflective electronic recording and reports.
- Be the first point of contact for professionals, vulnerable adults, children, families, or members of the public who have a concern which cannot safely wait until normal office hours resume.
- Carry out thorough high-quality crisis led assessments for children, families and vulnerable adults promptly identifying level of risk, need and services required to promote and ensure safe outcomes.
- Actively apply legal and professional knowledge and skills - balancing protection, risk and support to achieve positive outcomes for those requiring our service.
Shifts are as follows:
- 7 Night shifts over an 8-week (Mon ¿ Sunday 5pm ¿ 9am with a 1 hour break).
- 8 Management oversight shifts across 3 consecutive days that can be flexibly worked from home. (Evening cover is 4:30pm to 8:30pm Morning cover is 07:30am - 10:30 am.)
- To cover both handovers and support the team, provide written management oversight on cases handed across from day services and allocate to EDT social workers/AMHPS.
