About the role
An exciting opportunity to join the Fundraising team and bring to fruition a truly inclusive range of fundraising events. You will be working on a range of fantastic events such as our annual Open Gardens and Christmas on the Coast, individual and team challenge events such as Marathons, Cycle rides and treks – so we are looking for someone with bags of energy and enthusiasm.
You will demonstrate your creative event planning ability by bringing forward your own ideas for new events, and ways in which existing events can be finessed. You will have a strong understanding of donor stewarding, with a vision for helping our supporters to raise money whether through challenge or community events.
You will have proven experience of successful event management ideally within a fundraising environment, but not necessarily in your current paid role.
You will live the Hospice values: Respect, Inclusive, Kind and Innovative in all aspects of your work. You will be comfortable managing a number of concurrent events and managing your workload.
As some fundraising events are in the evenings or at the weekend your working week may well vary to accommodate these.
Please note that a full driving licence will be required to allow for travel to events and locations across Hastings and Rother.
At St Michael’s Hospice we offer a friendly, team orientated work environment – a good pension scheme with the option to continue any existing NHS pension scheme membership, an Employee Assistance Programme, Benenden Healthcare, up to 29 days annual leave plus bank holidays, subsidised employee meals and free refreshments, free parking, supportive supervision and a proactive Education Department to support with your development. Hospice employees also qualify for a Blue Light Card with access to a huge array of discounts.
Please note if a vacancy is part time the salary will be pro rata.
