The Governance and Audit Committee’s main areas of responsibility relate to internal and external auditing of the Council, the Council’s corporate risk framework, the Council’s governance arrangements and the review, scrutiny and approval of key financial statements.
The successful candidate will join the Committee, currently consisting of nine District Councillors, as a non-voting member and be able to demonstrate a wide range of experience, knowledge and skills to include:
The Governance and Audit Committee meets approximately seven times per calendar year during office hours. The successful candidate would need to be able to devote the necessary time to the role.
The Independent Co-opted Member of the Governance and Audit Committee will receive £1,500 per annum. As this is a new position on the Committee, the appointment will be for an initial period of one year.
