This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable residents in the borough. Are you pro-active, resourceful, customer-resolution focused? Then this role might be for you.
As a Housing Options & Assessment Officer, you'll be working in a busy and often challenging environment, where you will be supporting our vulnerable residents, some of whom may have complex needs. If you join our team, you'll be focused on preventing residents from becoming homeless, as well as providing tailored support and interventions when prevention is not an option.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, resilient, and self-motivated and be able to provide a high standard of housing advice and guidance to residents and landlords. Great organisational, communication and negotiating skills are a must.
Previous experience of working within housing, homelessness, voluntary and advisory sectors is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a high quality and collaborative assessment of the housing requirements and options for people in housing need.
- Understand the abilities and the complex, multiple needs of individual residents/households.
- Motivate and empower residents to find and sustain new housing through the creation of Personal Housing Plans.
- Assessing residents against the prevention, relief and main duties in the Homelessness Reduction Act.
- 3 A levels or equivalent through experience
- Demonstrable ability in written English and basic mathematics
