About the role
As one of our Senior Area Housing Managers, we’re looking for an experienced housing professional to manage and lead a small team of housing officers covering all aspects of housing and estate management.
You’ll help to provide a customer focussed generic tenancy management service to approximately 2,800 residents occupying general needs and leasehold accommodation in the Borough. You’ll be joining a motivated team focussed on tenancy sustainment, improving our estates and reducing rent arrears.
About you
As a Senior Area Housing Manager, you’ll need to demonstrate how you can effectively manage, develop and motivate your team to achieve key performance measures, and must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve enquiries and complaints.
You will:
- have experience of managing housing officers covering performance management, team development and service improvement.
- be able to deal with difficult situations involving clients with complex needs to provide appropriate outcomes
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- be good at managing conflicting priorities and be able to work in a pressurised environment
- be committed to safeguarding children and adults
- A qualification in housing is desirable but not essential
You’ll also manage casework for high level rent arrears cases progressing cases and presenting them in County Court as necessary, working closely with our inhouse Tenancy Support Officer and benefits department.
