Do you value education and training and want to support children to access these opportunities? Do you have knowledge and experience of education systems or an educational setting? Then this is the role for you!</p><p>You will work with children who are in the youth justice system who may have complex needs to improve their circumstances and reduce the likelihood of them reoffending through ensuring they can access appropriate education, training and employment. We are looking for motivated, emotionally resilient and tenacious candidates who are passionate about enabling positive and sustainable outcomes for children and young people.</p><p>The purpose of this role is to support children and young people working with the Youth Justice Service (YJS) who are not accessing a suitable level of education or those 'Not in Education, Employment, or Training' (NEET). You will be working with schools and colleges to enable children and young people to get back into education, training or employment. You will also be the expert lead on education within the YJS, so offer consultation to other Youth Justice Service colleagues, as well as cascading out best practice in this area and updates in any legislation. You will liaise with schools and education colleagues and use both restorative practice and a graduated approach to prevent exclusion within schools and ensure education and employment is seen as a way to safeguard children.</p><p>You will need to be able to travel countywide for all aspects of your work.
