The Hastings & St Leonards Foreshore Charitable Trust is seeking passionate individuals to join its Grant Advisory Panel, which plays a crucial role in advising on the distribution of grants to support local community groups and organisations. The panel consists of four to eight members who bring their expertise in the voluntary and charitable sector, particularly within the Borough of Hastings.
As a Grant Advisory Panel Member, you will attend and participate in meetings held two to four times a year. You will provide recommendations on grant criteria, application forms, and the advertisement of grant availability. Your role will include advising on the distribution of grants, reviewing applications, analysing budgets, and ensuring the impartial and efficient conduct of panel business. Additionally, you will offer insights into social issues affecting the Borough of Hastings to help guide funding decisions.
To be eligible for this role, you must be a resident of Hastings & St Leonards and have knowledge and experience in the voluntary and charitable sector within the borough. You must not be a councillor, officer, or employee of the Council. Strong communication skills, the ability to analyse information and understand budgets, and knowledge of social issues in the area are essential for this position.
