Have you considered being trained as a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) and becoming part of the Isle of Wight Council’s Parking Services team?
The Isle of Wight Council’s Parking Services’ team are dedicated to creating a safer roadside environment by tackling dangerous and inconsiderate parking, which will help assist traffic flow, improve access to homes and businesses, and keep public transport on the move.
If you possess good communication skills and are well organised with a diplomatic approach then you could have just the right qualities to be trained to undertake the CEO role. You will (depending on the requirement) be based at various locations across the Island; and as well as assisting members of the public, you’ll patrol parking areas, monitor ticket machines and issue Penalty Charge Notices.
Experience in a customer-facing environment, a full driving licence, and the ability to work well as part of a team, are essential. As Civil Enforcement Officers represent the public face of the Council, a calm and tactful personality is imperative.
The flexibility to work a shift system including early mornings, evenings, weekends and some Bank Holidays is important.
It is essential that the successful candidate holds English and Maths GCSE grades 4/C or above, or equivalent. Previous experience of parking enforcement, although desirable, is not essential, as full training will be provided.
