We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us in an exciting opportunity as an Assistant Ranger. This vital role is ideal for someone passionate about conservation and nature, and keen to develop skills in the sector. The role also provides the opportunity to participate in a Level 4 Apprenticeship programme, providing a valuable pathway for professional development.

Join our Parks and Countryside team for a role to protect and enhance Bracknell Forest’s nature and greenspaces. We are a highly driven and enthusiastic team that works together to achieve the best results for biodiversity and the people of our community. We are entrepreneurial and flexible, motivated in our work across our award-winning green spaces. We are always learning and passionate about developing our skills and experience within the sector.
Key responsibilities...
- Carrying out seasonal work on the borough’s trees, including planting, watering and maintenance.
- Assisting the wider team with the delivery of biodiversity projects, to include heathland management, coppicing, meadow management, and assisting with general site maintenance to include fencing, installation of site furniture, minor repairs and vegetation control.
- Develop and sustain positive working relationships with site users, local residents, volunteers, groups and individuals.
- Carry out play area maintenance to include cleaning of safety surfacing and minor repairs.
- Willingness to undertake a Level 4 Apprenticeship programme of learning which may require travel and two blocks of 1-week residential learning.
