Level 1 Teaching Assistant to work as one to one support
Required to start January 2025
Band C, Part Time 18 month temporary contract, 32 hours per week
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated teaching assistant, who feels that they are able to make a real difference here at Barnston Primary School. We are keen to hear from individuals who will support our aims and ethos and who are willing to work as part of a friendly team. Experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
Your key duties and responsibilities will be:
- implement and adhere to all school policies and guidelines;
- support initiatives decided by the Headteacher and senior staff;
- provide and maintain a stimulating classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils;
- keep appropriate and efficient records, which are shared with the teacher when and where appropriate;
- work with phase teachers to track the progress of individual children and intervene where pupils are not making progress where needed or instructed to do so;
- report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of pupils;
- promote the school's code of conduct amongst pupils, in accordance with the school's behaviour policy;
- communicate and co-operate with specialists from outside agencies;
- make effective use of ICT to enhance learning and teaching;
- nurturing positive relationships at all times;
- work with the SENDCo to ensure that individual pupils receive appropriate support;
- set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance; and attend and participate in open evenings and after school events.
The successful applicant will have strong literacy and numeracy skills; be enthusiastic, proactive and engaging; be able to provide effective support for learners through strong knowledge and experience of the curriculum.
