Are you passionate about working with people to make key lifestyle changes to improve their health and wellbeing? We are looking for a highly motivated health professional to join our dynamic Health Improvement and One You Team in Tunbridge Wells. We form part of an innovative West Kent Health Improvement partnership with Sevenoaks, Dartford, and Tonbridge & Malling Borough Councils and KCC to deliver the One You Kent health service in the Tunbridge Wells district.
The successful candidate will carry out one to one health and wellbeing assessments and deliver weight management, physical activity, alcohol, and healthy eating programmes. You will also deliver brief interventions on smoking cessation and mental wellbeing. These are delivered in person at outreach locations across the borough, over the telephone or on Microsoft Teams, giving clients the flexibility to choose their preferred method of communication. You will also be required to occasionally deliver interventions outside of usual office hours, to support clients that cannot attend appointments during the usual working day. Participation in community and other One You promotional events will form key areas of work.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues within the council, voluntary, community and health sectors to ensure that the client is at the centre of a holistic approach to their health needs.
The post holder will be highly motivated and able to build good rapport with individuals within the community using excellent communication skills. You will have an up-to-date knowledge and experience of behaviour change interventions and a passion for developing this knowledge base.
Additional benefits for this post include 22 days annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme as well as invaluable training opportunities for continuing professional development.
