Casual Interpreters/Translators\n\nCoventry Interpretation and Translation Unit (CITU) maintains a casual register of people with linguistic skills to support service users whose first language is not English.\n\nIf you are fluent in Amharic, Dinka, Garre, Italian, Nuer, Oromo, Pashto, Polish, Portuguese, Sudanese, Slovak/Czech, Tigrinya or Vietnamese languages, both written and verbal, have a good command of English and are available for face to face appointments during office hours to work on casual basis then you are invited to apply to join the Sessional Register of Interpreters/Translators.\n\nYou will be paid at £13.47 per hour plus travel time. Qualified Interpreters will be paid at a higher rate of £14.36.\n\nThis post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).\nWho are we looking for? Candidates should possess a minimum degree level or equivalent qualification, the DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting) is desirable, or an equivalent qualification will be given preference.\n\nPlease only apply if you are available for face to face appointments within Coventry area.
