Brixton Hill Music Centre, part of Lambeth Music Service, is looking to recruit a new member of staff to join our pastoral and operations team.
The centre provides provision for young people from the ages of 4 – 18 years old in various settings including individual lessons, small groups, and ensembles. Successful applicants would join the team dedicated to assisting with the smooth running of the centre. Applicants wishing to engage in a job share would be considered.
Main Purpose
The successful applicant will work closely with the Centre Manager to bring a diverse and inclusive music programme to Lambeth Music Service, and to ensure that all sessions are well managed, supporting the safety and welfare of all participants.
To provide pastoral support as required, contributing to the safe running of the Music Centre
Principal Accountabilities:
o Support Lambeth Music Service’s commitment to the safe and efficient running of the Music Centre by:
o Prepare and oversee tutor and student arrivals: Staff the reception area and monitor attendance.
o Lesson and rehearsal preparation: Ensure tutors have everything they need for lessons, including teaching materials, instruments, and any other equipment.
o Assisting the set-up and pack-down of teaching spaces throughout the centre prior to the arrival of students and throughout the day as necessary
o Prepare spaces and assist with performances.
o Undertaking pastoral duties as required to help supervise and monitor pupils and spaces whilst the centre is operating.
o Communication: Liaising with parents, students, tutors, and school staff regarding lesson times, events, and any relevant updates.
