You’ll do this by:

·         Assisting schools to embed physical activity throughout the school day – Encouraging active learning, movement breaks, and an active school culture.

·         Supporting schools to shape a positive culture and ethos – Advocating for the value of PE, school sport, and physical activity as essential to wellbeing and achievement.

·         Fostering personal development – Helping schools create opportunities that develop pupils’ leadership, teamwork, and resilience through sport and activity

Working in close partnership with colleagues in the team, across the council and a host of statutory, community and voluntary groups, you will lend your expertise to programmes promoting physical activity, health, and wellbeing in schools. Crucially, you’ll also help us to develop, deliver and evaluate projects that relate to tackling health inequalities. What’s more, you’ll help us to develop services, new approaches and play a key part in needs assessments and service reviews.

What you’ll need

To join us, you’ll need a mix of relevant qualifications with at least one being at level 4 or above, and extensive experience in the physical education, school sport and physical activity sector. Your track record includes involvement in securing funding, project management and the development of approaches to change services and outcomes. You’ve used evidence-based project, change and performance management techniques to drive successful change. With a flair for public engagement and partnership working, it is your talent for communication that really sets you apart.
