Three interns/placement year students wanted in busy Local Authority Planning Department in Wokingham, Berkshire. To start August 2025 for one year.
Are you currently studying for a degree in Planning or Geography or a similar subject and looking for a placement? We are offering the opportunity to work in our Planning team and learn how to: validate planning applications, preocess applications and investigate breaches of planning control. You will receive lots of on the job training in a friendly and caring environment. There will be the chance to rotate around different teams.
The placement starts in August 2025 and ends in August 2026 to fit in with the academic year. We understand that this will count towards your final degree and will liaise with your university, providing them with updates.
Wokingham is an attractive, historic market town, located 40 miles west of London in the prosperous Thames Valley, close to the M4 and M3 motorways. There are good rail links between Reading and Waterloo.
You will be provided with a laptop and a mix of office and home working is available. Applicants should have a full driving licence and access to a car to undertake site visits.
We are looking for people with great IT skills and a customer focused approach.

Whilst this is a fixed term contract appointment, for anyone already employed by Wokingham Borough Council this would be classed as a secondment if successful.
