You’ll need to be a strategic thinker, a highly organised individual who is able to manage mutiple areas of work, have the ability to resolve complex issues or bring forward solutions.  You will need to engage and build successful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and partners.</p>\n<p><strong>Key duties and responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead on the development of housing strategies e.g., homelessness and rough sleeping strategy and action plan, young person’s housing strategy, older persons/specialist housing strategy.</li>\n<li>Lead on affordable housing policies enabling the Council to secure affordable housing provision through development management</li>\n<li>Justify affordable housing policies at planning appeals, inquiries and hearings. </li>\n<li>Lead on affordable housing enabling across the Borough, negotiating with developers for both onsite and offsite affordable housing, and liaise with Registered Providers.  </li>\n<li>Act as link person in strategic housing team on key issues such as homelessness and domestic abuse </li>\n<li>Lead on the project management of commissioned housing projects including specialist housing schemes and community led housing schemes, including developing robust business cases, taking projects through from implementation to completion.</li>\n<li>Deputise for the Head of Service when required. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Closing date:</strong> Thursday 24th October 2024, 11pm</p>\n<p><strong>Interview Date:</strong> Monday 11th November (subject to change)</p>\n<p>For an informal, confidential discussion about this role, please contact the recruiting manager Frances Haywood on 07769 955068 or at frances.haywood@wokingham.gov.uk</p>\n<p>If your application is shortlisted for an interview, you will be required to provide proof of your right to work in the UK at that stage.
