You will get involved in all&nbsp;aspects of enforcement and the reduction of fly-tipping with a particular emphasis on&nbsp;communication and community engagement.</p>\n<p>Some of the key responsibilities for the role of ‘Environmental Health Technical&nbsp;Assistant- Fly-tipping Enforcement’ are as follows:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Taking a leading role in the enforcement and prosecution of fly-tippers</li>\n<li>Assisting in shaping the Council’s communications (including media releasesand educational materials) around the issue, and working with community&nbsp;organisations to help prevent the incidence of fly-tipping.</li>\n<li>Helping to develop and implement Hart’s fly-tipping action plan.</li>\n<li>Investigating the incidence of fly-tipping and taking enforcement action to&nbsp;ensure compliance. This may include gathering evidence of alleged offences,&nbsp;serving notices, taking witness statements and undertaking interviews under&nbsp;caution, preparing case files and acting as a witness in court when necessary.</li>\n<li>Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices in accordance with the Council’s policies and&nbsp;procedures.</li>\n<li>Sharing information and intelligence with internal and external stakeholders in&nbsp;relation to suspected waste offenders.</li>\n<li>&nbsp;Maintaining an active programme of risk-based camera /CCTV monitoring.</li>\n<li>Raising public awareness of environmental and waste crimes.</li>\n<li>Attending multi-agency meetings with key stake holders in fly-tipping&nbsp;enforcement. &nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>The applicant</h3>\n<p>We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and some experience in a relevant field. You should have some knowledge of best practice in a Local Authority or environmental crime enforcement, and you would need to be committed to providing high quality customer service.</p>\n<p>An ability to analyse data and computer literacy will also be essential.</p>\n<p>You will have an ability to manage your own time as well as to work as part of a team as well as the confidence to organise and administer meetings. The job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Environmental Health team for someone to help lead on tackling fly-tipping as part of a team of 9 supporting the Environmental Health and Licensing Contract Manager. You will get involved in all aspects of enforcement and the reduction of fly-tipping with a particular emphasis on communication and community engagement.

Some of the key responsibilities for the role of ‘Environmental Health Technical Assistant- Fly-tipping Enforcement’ are as follows:

  • Taking a leading role in the enforcement and prosecution of fly-tippers
  • Assisting in shaping the Council’s communications (including media releasesand educational materials) around the issue, and working with community organisations to help prevent the incidence of fly-tipping.
  • Helping to develop and implement Hart’s fly-tipping action plan.
  • Investigating the incidence of fly-tipping and taking enforcement action to ensure compliance. This may include gathering evidence of alleged offences, serving notices, taking witness statements and undertaking interviews under caution, preparing case files and acting as a witness in court when necessary.
