£25,019 pro-rated increasing to £25,892 pro-rated after 12 months’ satisfactory service
Monday – Wednesday. Flexi-time / Hybrid working available.

The Council is seeking an Job Sharing Administration Officer ideally with experience in a Private Sector Housing or Environmental Health Team or similar, to assist the expanding Team in improving housing standards in the borough as well as offering advice and assistance to the public.
You will be enthusiastic, organised, able to work with minimal supervision, able to show initiative, confident working with figures and have excellent communication skills particularly with dealing with vulnerable or in crisis members of the public and participate in promotional activities. You should also have excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and experience of ‘Uniform’ database is desirable.
You will be passionate about customer service excellence and will be a significant contributor to our vision of becoming the best Housing team in Kent.
Key areas of responsibility will include;
- Support the team to manage the Disabled Facilities Grant process and Discretionary Financial Assistances including financial monitoring
- Triaging calls into the Private Sector Team
- Giving basic advice and assistance to clients around issues affecting those in the private sector such as disrepair, damp & mould, tenancy issues, gas & electrical safety, HMOs (including licensing), caravan sites and empty properties
- Monitoring cases, producing standard emails/letters/legal notices etc., keeping IT records up to date, desk top investigations of HMOs
- Liaison with other departments and external agencies
- Other administrative duties where required such as post and scanning
You must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Excellent numeracy skills;
- Confidence, enthusiasm and a flexible approach;
- Excellent administration skills, accuracy and attention to detail;
- Good keyboard skills and the proven ability to learn and utilise new software;
- Good customer care skills;
- The ability to discuss sensitive issues with our customers calmly;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
