About the role
Our Opportunity
We are looking for a diligent and meticulous Finance Manager to join our supportive and collaborative team. You will be able to promote expedient and professional financial services while ensuring adherence to TKAT and wider procurement policies and guidance.
Working with the Business Manager you will assist in facilitating a full and accurate account of each school's financial records. Demonstrating excellent leadership skills with effective communication you will manage the day-to-day operation of the Finance Officers and support them to deliver their core financial functions: Accounts Receivable, Accounts payable & Credit Control. Working with the payroll & HR teams you will ensure overtime and expenses payments and contract variations are correctly processed.
You will support the Business Manager with budget reporting and will be responsible for the month end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and reviewing budget v actual spend for each school.
You will work across our TKAT Weald Primary Schools - Napier Primary Academy (ME7 4HG), Ore Village Primary Academy (TN35 5DB), Pluckley C of E Primary School (TN27 0QS), Smarden Primary School (TN27 8ND) and any additional schools that may also be supported by the Business Manager. This role will be hybrid with a normal working pattern of working from home 3 days a week, working from your closest school 1 day a week and travel to the other Weald schools 1 day a week. Additional travel to other Weald schools, or other TKAT schools, may also be required occasionally as determined by business requirements. As there is some distance between the schools your closest school will be your home school and mileage will be paid for travel to other locations.
You will be extremely well supported, working alongside a committed team who all share the same vision of achieving more together.

- Working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures and practice
- Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
- A flexible approach to working. Worked in an office and or Hybrid environment
- Enthusiasm and commitment to working as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills who develops positive relationships
