A bit about us:
Liverpool is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making our city a better place. We've got ambitious targets to meet by 2025 and we need people who are driven, dynamic and ready to deliver the very best for our communities. Public service is more important than ever, and this role represents a real opportunity to make a difference to our communities by transforming the way we work and placing our residents at the heart of everything we do.
Working at Liverpool City Council provides an opportunity to contribute to your community and make a positive impact on the lives of residents. Our values shape how we work to deliver public services, and how we communicate with the residents we serve. We care about the best outcomes for local people, through our public services.
We are proud of our world-famous thriving city with its rich culture, affordable housing, stunning waterfront and our beautiful green spaces – there’s really something for everyone!
This is an exciting time for Adult Social Care in Liverpool, as we transform service delivery and introduce new and innovative ways of working. We are ambitious in our approach and will meet our statutory responsibilities in a strength based, person centred way, putting the person at the centre of everything that we do.
Vital to this ambition is our leadership team who will drive this transformational approach, embed new ways of working and deliver our ambition.
We are recruiting a Head of Service within the Adult Social Care and Health Directorate to lead our Integrated Hospital Pathways service.
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced individual who has extensive knowledge of the statutory requirements across Adult Social Care and Health.
As a leader you will be highly motivated, supportive and able to work autonomously within the national legislative framework and governance arrangements of Liverpool City Council and the wider Care and Health system.
You will manage complex budgets, lead on performance management, programmes of continuous improvement and embed a culture of high-quality services that provide the best outcomes for people.
You will also need to be resilient and have the ability to manage complex change and innovation programmes, whilst maintaining service delivery and quality standards. You will lead on embedding a positive culture and new ways of working in your service area, keeping the focus on the person at the centre of service delivery.
You will champion the values and behaviours expected of all Liverpool City Council employees and will motivate and develop your team.
