This job is fixed term until July 2025 and will be reviewed at that point.
The Headteacher and Governors of St. Gregory’s Catholic Primary School in Lydiate are seeking to appoint an Admin Assistant to support their School Bursar and the overall administration of our successful and aspirational school.
The ideal candidate for this role would
- Be a self-motivated individual, with a friendly, welcoming and reassuring nature
- Be committed to upholding the Catholic ethos and nature of our school
- Have knowledge of Safeguarding in schools
- A team player also able to work off their own initiative
The ideal candidate for this role would have:
- Experience of working in a busy office environment
- Excellent telephone manner and welcoming approach to visitors and staff
- Excellent IT skills
- Knowledge of Excel and other Office programs
The roles and responsibilities of the successful candidate would be:
- To support successful school communication
- Provide general admin support (photocopying, producing letters, sending and replying to emails and telephone calls etc )
- Liaise with staff to prepare correspondence to parents
- Provide communication with parents / create forms etc via the school app
- Update pupil records on SIMS database
- Record attendance daily on SIMS and report reasons for pupil absences
- Update Parentpay daily
- Welcome visitors to our school
- Be responsible for booking school trips, coaches etc
- Provide support for ‘Friends of St.Gregory’s’ – our parent/teacher fundraising group

This role would ideally commence 6th January 2025, pending approved references and DBS clearance. If notice is required to current employer, this would be honoured before commencing employment with our school.
