Careers Young WorkPath provide impartial careers information, advice and guidance to young people between the age of 13-19 years and up to 25 years with an EHCP. We work in schools, colleges and community settings in a multi-cultural and diverse borough. The Service is looking to recruit a Careers Adviser to provide impartial careers information, advice and guidance to young people with SEND, SEN and those at risk of becoming NEET, NEET young people and their families. You will work in mainstream schools/colleges and advise and guide young people and their families/carers on the range of options and opportunities available to them, and support young people to be prepared for future transitions into education, training, jobs, apprenticeships and supported internships. We are keen to recruit an experienced and fully qualified Careers Adviser who has worked in schools/college and has substantial experience working with young people and their families. You will be a skilled communicator and able to draw on your previous experience and knowledge and adapt your interview skills to meet the needs of individual young people. You will have the ability to develop strong networks and collaborate effectively with a range of professionals and organisations to support young people’s transitions. A good knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and legislation pertaining to SEN young people is required. You will work independently and plan and deliver your caseload across several schools/colleges and with NEET young people to meet Service objectives. You will work closely and jointly with other Careers Advisers and the broader Careers team. You will need to keep up to date on changes and developments within the sector. You will be a registered member of the CDI and committed to ongoing learning and development. Enhanced DBS is essential.
