About the role
Danehill is a small, friendly Church of England village school in the Ashdown Forest. We have a clear vision for our school – to nurture, engage and inspire our community through our innovative, enlivened curriculum. Our Christian values enable all to flourish.
We currently have 91 pupils on roll, in four classes. We are looking for a Individual Needs Assistant to join our mixed Year One/ Two class team, available to start as soon as possible. There may be some flexibility with working hours for this role, though ideally the successful candidate will work two full days (8.30am-3.30pm) and one afternoon (1-3.30pm).
The successful applicant will:
- Support the pupil's social, emotional and communication development, as well as their learning and physical development.
- Have knowledge and experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs such as ASC and Speech, Language and Communication needs.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to maximise pupils’ development and communication skills and deliver programmes to support identified needs.
- Be resilient and able to work independently, flexibly and use their own initiative to respond to the children’s needs.
- Be committed to working with a team where learning opportunities are co-created through the collective imagination and curiosity of the group.
