How You’ll Be Involved
This is an opportunity to be part of a thriving and dynamic service across Camden’s Children and Learning directorate. As part of our new Relational Practice centre the Service Lead is a new role that will play a central role in achieving positive outcomes for children and families in Camden, by inspiring, encouraging, and developing excellent systemic practice to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.
You will be joining a friendly and engaging leadership team that is committed to keeping families together by working closely with colleagues and partners in respectful and appreciative ways to help find families strengths to deliver the best possible outcomes for children in the borough.
The role
You will be an Associate for our new Centre for Relational Practice.
Bringing expertise in the field of systemic practices, you will be responsible for developing, promoting, and communicating our practice approach into all aspects of service delivery within children’s social care. You will be responsible for:

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Please note Camden also offers the DBS update service.

To be considered for this role, you will need a UKCP recognised qualification in family and systemic psychotherapy. It is desirable but not essential for you also hold a Social Work Qualification – CQSW/ Dip SW/ Degree in Social Work, however demonstrable relevant post qualification experience of working within Children’s Services.
You will need to have a strong commitment to anti-racist and anti-discriminatory practice. As well as an active awareness of self, relational and epistemological reflexivity, and the way in which personal and professional stories can impact children and families and professional relationships.
You will be a natural born leader with the ability to manage, lead and motivate staff and foster their development and to relate and work with people at all levels. You will be able to relate everyday practice issues to the wider strategic context, and ability to apply theory to practice and shape the practice of others. You will also need to have a high level of communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in accessible form, including presenting to large internal/external groups.
