HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT
Isle of Wight (On-Site)
Permanent, Full time, Term time
Basic DBS check required
Hay Scale Grade 8: Points A-E, £29,885 to £32,655 pro rata. (Actual salary: £21,435 to £23,421 per annum)
term time only plus 5 development days
30 hours per week (Term Time + 5 Development Days)
We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team!
The role will complement the work of our teachers, by supporting in the delivery of teaching and learning for periods of PPA, Leadership release time or CPD across the school. The HLTA will be proficient in being able to teach lessons from a planned sequence and support children to make progress.
The successful candidates must:
- Have experience working as a HLTA in a school setting with the HLTA qualification or willing to undertake this training.
- Have experience of leading whole classes and groups of children through split level teaching and have a passion that every child will succeed.
- Demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic approach, being able to inspire, motivate and encourage pupils in their learning.
- Have the ability to work as a cohesive team and the ability to work independently with initiative when required.
- Show commitment to their own learning and development, and the sharing of good practice.
- Be able to contribute to or adapt the planning and preparation of lessons, showing confidence in the delivery of learning activities for individuals/groups or whole classes
- Monitoring pupils by using appropriate assessment for learning, and recording and reporting their achievements, progress and development to the class teacher
