We are seeking applicants with a sound understanding of and demonstrable experience in public health policy and practice. Applicants should have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others to improve public health outcomes.</p>\n<p>This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking professional to help us build on our strong track record of successful delivery. Working to a Public Health Principal, and alongside an experienced Public Health Team, you will support the delivery of the ambitions in Wirral's Health and Wellbeing Strategy. You will work with partners to improve local population health outcomes, reduce inequalities, and help protect local communities from threats to health from infectious diseases, environmental and other public health hazards.</p>\n<p>We are looking for candidates with a good breadth of public health knowledge and skills, who can provide public health leadership, specialist advice and support on a range of public health priorities and contribute to the development and implementation of local initiatives for action. Whilst not essential, experience of working with public, private and community, voluntary and faith sector groups is desirable. Flexibility and good communication skills are critical features of this position. There is lots to do, therefore the successful candidate should be energetic and resilient, with a can-do attitude.</p>\n<p>You will be joining a talented and ambitious team of passionate colleagues who are working to deliver excellence. We are committed to developing the public health workforce and investing in our staff. We are a recognised Public Health training location, and you will be required to contribute to and support the training offer for Public Health Specialty Registrars, Foundation Year Doctors and other trainees and professionals within the locality with an interest in Public Health. Although not essential for applicants, it is desirable for post holders to register as a Public Health Practitioner on the United Kingdom Public Health Register (UKPHR) professional register.</p>\n<p>Wirral is a fantastic place to work, live and play.
