Traffic Network Management sits within the Network Management function that is part of the Councils Highways & Infrastructure service, within its Neighbourhoods directorate.</p>\n<p>The Council is required to effectively deliver the Liverpool City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement Combined Authority Transport Plan programme that contributes to the reduction in the number and severity of road traffic collisions, making safer journeys for pedestrians and cyclists, and improving air quality. This role is fundamental in facilitating a programme of schemes that supports the strategic objectives of the Liverpool City Region Road Safety Strategy, the Network Management Plan, and the Council Plan 2023-2027.</p>\n<p>Your role will be critical in the management and delivery of traffic signs and road markings and lead on the technical delivery/approval of traffic engineering projects including parking restrictions, movement orders, residents parking, and traffic management schemes ensuring compliance with current design guidance and legislation. You will be responsible the management of the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) process from inception to completion including the drafting of legal TRO schedules, production of technical drawings and management of TRO records.</p>\n<p>The role will play a significant part in ensuring that the service responds effectively to the needs of local communities and other stakeholders; excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders is key.</p>\n<p><strong>About the candidate:</strong></p>\n<p>The successful candidate will have an HNC in Civil Engineering qualification, or an equivalent academic qualification in a traffic or highway engineering or a related discipline, and will have detailed knowledge, skills, and professional experience of the following:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provision of technical expertise, advice, and support on behalf of the directorate on all aspects of traffic management improvement works.</li>\n<li>Support in the assessment of highway safety implications for the design, consultation and delivery of traffic and highway improvement schemes to help provide a safe and effective highway network.</li>\n<li>Understanding civil engineering design standards, best practices, and relevant legislation and guidance (TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual, DMRB, Road Traffic Act, etc.)</li>\n<li>Working effectively with Councillors, senior officers, members of the public, private organisations, transport, and other service providers. Principal Engineer (Network Management)

About the Role:
