At the Adelaide, our teams work hard to support individuals to live happy, fulfilled, and independent lives. Our work focuses on enabling people, so every single day on site is filled with positive challenge and reward as we support people on their journey to recovery.
The Adelaide is a purpose-built Resource Centre situated in Ryde. It has 24 single rooms spread over two floors which are accessible by both stairs and a large passenger lift.
We are a reablement service offering support to people on discharge from hospital, allowing them to regain independence. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission, offering a high standard of care by trained and experience staff in a comfortable environment. We have a positive approach to person centred care and promotion of independence and work closely with Health and Social Care professionals to maintain client’s wellbeing.
We offer many services to our clients including:
- Nutritionally balanced meals are provided.
- Access to chiropody and bathing facilities.
- Stimulating leisure activities including outings, seasonal events, indoor entertainment, and the occasional party.
- A shop stocking a range of toiletries, confectionery, and other useful items.
As a Support Worker at the Adelaide Resource Centre, you will provide reablement support and longer-term care by promoting daily living skills in order for our clients to live as independently as possible. You will play a vital part in giving personal care, emotional support, and encouragement to meet the needs and wishes of individuals that is in line with their bespoke plans, whilst contributing to a homely atmosphere and share our focus on delivering a person-centre approach in all that you achieve.

- Encourage service users to achieve their own aspirations independently.
- Follow the specific goal / support plans and update colleagues to ensure our care and support is relevant and appropriate.
- Provide personal care including washing, un/dressing, moving people safely, toileting and support with meals in accordance with the Intimate Care Protocol and in line with best practice ensuring dignity and respect are always maintained.
Our ethos of ‘Reablement’ is always striving for our clients to optimise their independence ‘working with people to achieve their own goals not for them’.
