Employees with us receive a wide range of benefits including well-being in work, financial benefits, ways of working and learning and development support.<br><br>Making A Difference as Clerical Officer in Electoral Services<br><br>St. Helens Council is looking for a highly motivated and organised person to join the busy Electoral Services and Administration Team.<br><br>We are looking for a team player with the ability to undertake routine tasks quickly and accurately, someone who has previous experience of clerical work in an office environment and who has the skills and abilities to re-schedule work according to competing priorities.<br><br>This post is based within the Electoral Services section and the successful candidate will work as part of a small team providing administrative support to both Electoral Services and Legal Services.<br><br>This post is temporary to cover maternity leave.<br><br>The team are responsible for preparing and maintaining the Register of Electors, the administration of all Local and Parliamentary and elections along with administrative support to Legal Services. In addition to this you will assist with the annual canvass of electors each year and deal with day to day enquires form members of the public.<br><br>You will be expected to work some additional hours during busy periods, mainly during the period leading up to an election.<br><br>The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent literacy, communication and ICT skills. They must be able to prioritise their own workload effectively and efficiently and supervise staff in a busy office environment particularly during elections.<br><br>Previous experience of working in an electoral office would be desirable.
