About the role
Are you good organiser?
If you are, then as a Personal Assistant to our Assistant Directors/Lead Members, you can make a real difference in supporting our Departmental Management Team in the Children's Services Department in their busy roles.
You will be providing PA support to two Assistant Director for Children’s Services, plus a range of other administrative duties, working within a small and friendly team. The post is 4 days a week (ideally Tuesday to Friday but this is negotiable).
Our PAs play a vital role in supporting the Council - helping us provide a better service to the people of East Sussex. It’s fast-paced and varied, but we’ll make sure you get all the training and support you need to succeed. If you do not have previous PA experience but believe you could succeed in this role we would still like to hear from you.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has organisational and communication skills
- Enjoys working within a team
- Has the ability to work under pressure
- MS Office skills
- Is proactive and able to use their own initiative in problem-solving

This post offers the opportunity for hybrid working, with a minimum of 2 days in the office and 2 days working from home (non fixed days), but flexibility required to cover in the office for more days during busy periods etc.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
