We are looking for a team member to join us who is self-motivated and has broad experience in all the challenges that working in the property industry can bring.
Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to build up a rapport with colleagues, tenants and other professionals.
You will have an HND/Degree in Construction or equivalent experience and able to use AutoCAD.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a team providing professional building advice, building services, repairs, maintenance, condition surveys and business support across the council.
You will have the ability to carry out condition surveys, prepare reports, briefs, design schemes, prepare specifications, provide drawings and run projects from an in-house team or with outside consultants/contractors. Working knowledge and understanding of the application of the DDA Regulations, Health & Safety law, Building Control in the Construction Industry is essential.
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Asset Management, the post holder will be expected to lead on the Councils stock condition surveys with the support of the wider team and have experience in a similar role, including managing budgets and ensuring the timely completion of projects. Knowledge of running service contracts and associated legislation is an advantage.
As well as time working either in the office or from home, you will be out in the community meeting council occupiers, commercial tenants and inspecting our properties.
