Environmental Health Degree Apprentice

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Salary: SK2 (currently £23,694 per annum)

Contract: Fixed Term

We currently have an opportunity for a degree apprentice to join our Public Protection department. You will be employed by SKDC, and you will attend a university to complete an Environmental Health Practitioner (Integrated Degree) (Level 6). The course will be accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and would lead to you successfully becoming a Registered Environmental Health Practitioner. This opportunity allows you to learn whilst you earn a salary, and you will complete the degree without paying any tuition fees. After completion, SKDC will pay the professional body membership fee.

Your time away from university will be spent rotating through different placements including food safety and health and safety, environmental protection, private sector housing and other environmental and public health matters. You will have the opportunity to utilise the knowledge learnt throughout your studies and apply them in practise during your placements. This opportunity will enable you to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience to kickstart your career as an environmental health professional.
