About the role
KEY STAGE 2 TA3 WITH LUNCH AND BREAK TIME DUTIES.
To start Jan 2024.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in our year 6 class for 30.50 hours per week, preferably with previous experience of working with children as a TA. They will also have lunch and break time duties.
Hours of work – Monday to Friday 8.40-3.15 – 30.5 hours
Salary - dependant on experience Single Status Grade 3 or 4
Duties and responsibilities
- Supporting children in the Year 6 with their learning and development
- Leading small group activities focused on literacy and numeracy.
- Assisting the class teacher with the daily setup and running of the classroom
- Monitoring and reporting on children's progress to the teacher and SENCO
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Providing support for children with additional learning needs or SEN
Desirable skills and Experience:
- Basic understanding of child development and learning
- Commitment to Inclusion
- Calm, kind and flexible approach
- Ability to work under the general guidance of the Class Teacher
- Experience of working with children, preferably in a Key Stage 2 setting
- Enthusiasm, patience, and ability to build positive relationships with children and staff
- Be suitably qualified for the post of Teaching Assistant i.e. to have good basic literacy and numeracy skills (to GCSE level or above) and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
